More Studios Moving to Fort Worth

In recent years, Texas has experienced a production boom. From commercials to feature films, productions are moving to the Lone Star State. Fort Worth is at the forefront, with major television series calling Cowtown home. The latest step is the construction of SGS Studios, a 450,000 square foot facility on the 27,000-acre AllianceTexas development in north Fort Worth. This facility can support four large-scale productions simultaneously, making it the largest operating studio in Texas. It is already almost full, with Landman, Lioness, and Madison utilizing the space.

This Studio is spearheaded by 3 major players.

– Taylor Sheridan, Texas local and renown Director/ Writer
Hillwood, a Development company headed by Ross Perot Jr.
– Paramount Television

This studio was created to boost North Texas economic growth, attract global productions, and educate about the production industry. Job training programs have begun in partnership with Tarrant County College to train students in specialized production skills. There are also plans to expand this program to even more students in the future.

This is a huge boost to Fort Worth’s reputation. It is becoming known as a hub for creativity and production. Texas’s film incentives have made the state more appealing for shoots, and this studio furthers that appeal in North Texas. A stronger production industry helps all of us as it establishes our area as a hub for production. With this large studio and economic boost, Fort Worth will keep appearing on screens big and small for the foreseeable future.
