Show Business Is My Life, But I Can’t Prove It

A Film About Gary Mule Deer

Have you ever heard of that comedian with crazy hair who always has a rubber chicken? Probably not, but his story is one you definitely want to hear.

Gary Mule Deer is simultaneously as renowned as he is translucent in the industry. Over several decades, the comedian has garnered traction for his fun and peculiar character. It’s been a crazy game of wits for him so far, but Gary Mule Deer already knows that – now it’s your turn to be in on the fun!

Show Business Is My Life, But I Can’t Prove tells the story of Gary’s oddball path in standup comedy. From his start in “show business” performing Johnny Cash covers at a South Dakota brothel, to his over 350 televised performances, his career has been as strange as his comedy itself. He’s odd, he’s got crazy hair, and his metronomic timing is legendary. He’s a friend to the biggest names in comedy and he may just be the funniest comedian you’ve never heard of.

The cast is stacked with some of the biggest names in comedy and entertainment including Steve Martin, David Letterman, Jay Leno, Conan O’Brien, Alice Cooper, and many more.

The documentary premiered at the Nashville Film Festival on October 1st and is screening at several film festivals this fall. It will be making its way to Fort Worth on November 12th for the Lone Star Film Festival.
