Executive Producer: Red Productions ATX John Gilliland

John Gilliland has worked in production for over 30 years, starting his career in Los Angeles during the early days of reality television as a Segment Producer on America’s Most Wanted.  In the mid-1990s, he moved to Texas and worked as a freelance Line Producer for commercials.  Eventually, he started his own commercial production company in Austin called AMMO. In the mid-2000s he moved to Dallas to join the company Directorz as Executive Producer/Partner, overseeing production on national and international commercial projects.  Directorz rebranded to Lucky 21 in 2011 where Gilliland continued as EP/Partner until leaving in mid-2020 to explore other opportunities.

While at Directorz/Lucky 21, John served on the board of AICP Southwest.  He was President for 2 separate terms and Vice President for multiple Presidents over his 20 years involvement in the organization.  During his 2 terms as President of AICP SW, he also served on the National Board of AICP.

John’s interests include cars & motorcycles, playing guitar, riding bicycles, going to Barton Springs, and traveling and spending time with his wife and family.  John lives in Austin with his wife of 26 years, Lenore, and has three grown children and a mini poodle named Ludwig.
